HUD (Head-Up Display): A transparent display system that presents critical information directly in a user’s line of sight, eliminating the need to look down at instruments or controls. Originally developed for military aviation, a HUD projects data such as airspeed, altitude, heading, weapon status, and targeting information onto a glass panel or directly onto the cockpit canopy, allowing pilots to maintain situational awareness while keeping their eyes focused forward. HUDs are now used in commercial aircraft, automotive applications, and augmented reality systems. The technology enables users to view essential data while simultaneously monitoring their external environment, improving safety and operational efficiency.
